Yeah I know all this man... cheers.
I just want a brand new pump for piece of mind etc... didn't think of the eternal thermo housing and the temp switch though, sounds like a pretty good idea but.

For those who don't really mind appearances and on a budget.

Guys there is a way to get around all this.
    Its a lot cheaper.
reason, running a RWD water pump was using its thermostat, right?
well, I used to run a remote thermostat off a FWD.
and it works fine, and it cost basically nothing.
you can keep running your FWD waterpump.
Also, it worked on a 20V installation as well.

Known also, I like everything as neat and factory looking as possible though hence the reason for running a JDM pump.

I think everyone in this thread knows about the fwd+remote thermostat setup, although it is much neater and has less potential leaks than the fwd setup (less hoses, less clamps).

I also paid $120 for the complete pump/housing (probably the cheapest price new).

Cheaper option is use a 4ac front pump ($70-with a little mod for 4age), 2nd hand 4ac rear housing ($5-10), new ae82 outlet ~$20-30. Check yahoo for the top outlet and bridge pipe, though it would probably cost like $50-60 to your door.
