    custom tailshaft

use bellhousing from old toytoa crown with 2sc engine

what 3sge are you using as if you are using beams 3sge you wil need to weld new starter housing into bellhousing, i have one in my car that i made and can also make you one if you source me the bellhousing for a small fee, if you are using a gen 2 or 3 i cant help you with starter issues, though if you get the starter to suit your bellhousing then you can always just bolt it up and see if it works, which it most probably will, if not you should be able to mod the sandwich plate to suit as i dont think any other 3sge had a oil drain from the back of the head to the passenger side of the block so you should be able to run the starter on whichevr side your bellhousing tells you to...

you could use a sa63 or ra65 tail shaft front section. then t-18 or jdm ae86 rear section.

you will obviously be limiting your engine position options (fore/aft) but from what i can tell, it should put it in a decent spot, with close to "normal" fireway to head clearance. just depends on which version of engine you use and if youre able to mod the cam covers whether you will have bonnet clearance issues.

your bell housings options are either sa63 celica, or y powered commercials. the y bell does need modifying. but puts the starter on the intake side.

so theres 2 versions of "2sc" as from my google search sa63s have the 2sc in them also, the old crown my belhousing comes from also has a "2sc" in it

id love to find one and see if the stock beams starter fits it

otherwise ive done al this modding for nothing, well. saved me aot of searching as i had all the parts laying in my shed

    what gen 3sge u using?

I might be interested in a quad throttle beams conversion in the long term future, I wonder if I can get away with keeping my brake booster

    Hey dr1ft-pig

No the starter motor won't work on 3sge gen2 motor onwards
as the starter bolts up on the gearbox/bellhousing side.
On the gen1 3sge it bolts up under the exhaust manifold like a 4age one.
Hence the problem with gen 2 onwards flywheel the ring gear teeth are chamfered
for starter motor meshing on the opposite side as well as different diameter flywheel.
So you get starter motor meshing probs and flwheels are
not interchangeable between gen 1 & gen 2 onwards.
