I don't understand that fuel system, what are those breathers for? Can someone explain it to me?
They're not breathers, they're fillers. It's a dry break system, designed for mid-race re-fuelling, it works quickly and theoretically, not a drop is spilt.
Those are the female ends, which are fitted to the car and have a valve that automatically snaps open and shut. A churn full of fuel has the male end on it and it is pushed in to one of those fillers, automatically opening the valves and allowing fuel to run through, by gravity. Another empty churn (called a vent bottle) is plugged into the second filler and it captures the vapour, allowing the tank to fill fully & quickly. They can put 90 litres into a car in under a minute.

Damn right it is the "best AE86 in Australia".
Not only is is the quickest NA 4AGE in a coupe built to Group A rules, it is also the holy grail of TRD.
Why? Because it has every TRD group A spec part in it from the day that was later listed described in the TRD Bible for AE86 printed some 12 years later.
