    Default alternator question

What should a alternator output be on a 3tc?
My car went flat the other day (left my lights on) so iv charged it and now the volt meter in the car is now only reading about 13v whilst driving and drops below 12v if i have my lights on and indicator on.
Volt meter was on about 14v before the battery went flat
Would my alt be on the way out?
    Any other ideas?

Dodgy connection/loose wire? Voltage regulator, perhaps?

    Hey mate

Get hold of a multimeter and check voltage at alternator Pos+ terminal
and then at the Battery + terminal.
Voltage at the alternator should be 13.8 > 14.5 volts,
Max voltage difference between them shouldn't be more than .2 to .5 volts.
