So I pulled out old 5 speed to replace with KE70 5 speed.
Realised that the KE70 5 speed uses a t50 shifter, exactly the same. Will be re-bushing that to make it nice and fresh and I'm going to grab new boots for it.
Weld up the hole cut into the floor soon too.

They aren't wide enough
run a decent size spacer they be fine
No spacers.
