Price Drop to $8500 and car has been put on Carpoint.
Due to work and travel commitments I am sadly having to say goodbye to the most fun car I have ever owned....
For sale: ADM AE86 1985 “SIR86” PPQ Plates.
Location* Brisbane
Asking Price: * $8500 ONO
Killometer's: * 386,858 Chassis
Manual or Automatic transmission: * 5 Speed Manual T-50
Engine Type: * Blacktop 20V
Condition: Body is in overall great condition, has not been involved in an accident while under my ownership and car was straight when I purchased it (thus why I got it). Car was bought about 6 years ago with small rust repairs around the windscreen and rear beaver panel already done. I had it resprayed in Holden (RED HOT) soon after that. There are a couple lil bubbles around the fuel filler and the middle of the roof appearing now. There is also a small hole in the lowest part of the rear right side bit that is hidden by the bumper. Other than those bits the car appears to be clean, of note it was rust proved from the dealership when new which might be the reason the doors and rest of car is quite clean.
Modifications: CD Player, A/C (yes its a daily driver), good car alarm (not a cheapy that goes off every time a car rumbles past), MOMO gearknob, MOMO Race Steering wheel, replacement carpets.
Engine: Blacktop 20V conversion performed by Anthony Kellam (Kaizen Garage) with TRD copy extractors and 2.5” catback, OEM ECU with Kellam box.
Suspension: Front: Custom coilovers 8kg springs with Tokico HTS101 adjustable shocks, Cusco Camber Tops, RCAs 30mm (from memory)
Rear: 6kg AJPS springs with KYB AGX adjustable shocks, whiteline adjustable panhard.
Rack ends, ball joints and all front bushings (SuperPro) all done by Fulcrum. Rear bushings all replaced with Prothane items.
Drivetrain: T series rear end from T-18 with rear swaybar mounts from S series welded on.
Cusco MZ 1.5 way LSD with 4.3 ratio setup by Duncan @ Top Cog
Brakes: Front: S13 SR20 front calipers with upgraded M/C.
Rear: Standard T-18 drums.
Wheels: 4 x SSR Reverse Mesh (I’m sure they are Reverse) 15x7
2 x SSR Longchamp 15x7
Unsure of offset on both sets.
Complianced/Engineered: Mod plated yes.
Road Worthy Certificate: Selling registered so yes to RWC (will get RWC once interested party puts deposit on car).
Registration: April 2009
Crash History: No accidents under my ownership, unknown crash history prior to ownership however seems unlikely there was one due to condition of shell/chassis, its VERY straight!
Other Comment's about the vehicle: Car has been my daily driver since was put on road after conversion took place. It was never modded to be a drift (I don’t drift) or track car, and as such has lived its whole modded life on the street. Regular oil changes to engine/box/diff and a replacement clutch slave cyl and soft line, has been enough to keep this car in an extremely reliable state. As above its a clean example of an 86 and was never intended to be anything other than a fun daily driver... but I guess could be turned into something special for drift/circuit easily.
Now for the bad bits:
Gearbox has a bad 4th synchro, shifts from 3rd to 4th all day long but will not go from 5th to 4th at all. Have to at least go halfway into 3rd with clutch down and it then slots into 4th with no hesitation. The gearbox has been like this since day one when it had the 4AC, and not really bothered me.
Tailshaft really should be replaced with a new item due to uni joints clunking around a bit. A nice 1 piece would be my pick.
A/C squeels for a couple seconds when you first turn it on with a cold car taking off then stops. A/C works really well and the noise is only for a few seconds so not something I would say is an issue since I never bothered to check it out.
Other than those couple things and the couple bubbles of rust as mentioned above.... the car is awesome.
