Aust CBR250's came in 1 of 2 colour schemes, one was the 'tri colour' like an early model CBR900RR and the other was a burgundy colour which was actually the most common. Aust delivered CBR250's are actually quite rare as they were incredibly expensive when new, at the time an RGV250 was much less and offered superior performance. The Aust delivered CBR250 predates the grey imports by quite a number of years.

The flood of grey imports has seen them everywhere and a good learner bike.

The Aust Repsol replica you may be thinking of is the Thai built NSR150SP which was a 150cc single cylinder 2 stroke, they were sold here as Aust delivered for a few years, they only came in the Repsol paint scheme, they were quite cheap.

My first bike back in 1991 was a VFR400 NC30 that I imported in 1991, it was a cool bike.

I'm surprised they weren't/aren't more popular. A good friend of mine had one with mild bolt-on bits (carb/exhaust/reeds) and it would show taillights to a CBR250. That and they're kickstart only too.

I would love to get my hands on an MC28 NSR, fricken sweet bike, I owned an RGV250 many years ago, put a set of chambers/mufflers on it, rebuilt the engine, cleaned up the porting etc, did a 13.1 @ 107mph, i tried like you wouldn't believe to crack a 12 but it was not to happen.

The night I was drag racing it a lad had his CBR250RR out there, he wanted to drag me first to show me how fast his bike was(he had never heard of an RGV250!!) any way his fastest time was a 15.1 @ 88mph!!! lets just say he was quite upset!!

Guess I'll just have to make do with my HRC kitted RC45
