i so with i had your car brett, well atleast the cage, im currently removing that shit outa my car, *i was pwned by swearing filter* me its so boaring. and shit not much room in the boot to do this.
i used friggen hammer and scredriver, this scredriver is adjective bit adn strong, it was better than a shisel. didnt destroy all the paint and shit underneath.
i also hade a leaky sufge tank in the back so fuel was on one side and that made it heaps easyer to get it off.
by a heat gun,(it think i got one somewere) its just a gun looking then that you can change waht heat come ut of it, (has no flames)?
thanks for ya help ben
btw brett you still got your other sprinter, i herd you crashed it, is this true???
waht do people do with that shit thats n the joins in the body, its like body filler kinda shit, leave it or bring it down the the moetel so it look good or what, there is alote of it around the front seatmounts.
some one plz help me im currently up to this and im not sure what to do
id leave it
just primer and paint over the top
doesnt turn out too bad
what do you primer it with, i used turps to clean all the stick shit of but the paint doesnt stick to it . so waht should i use?
Turps is oily but removes sticky things well. So after cleaning the sticky stuff off with turps, you clean the turps of with metho. Leaves it clean and ready for paint.
I finished my buid a little while age, and urge you not to do the following.
At the time i tried soaking with turps. good to soften it up, but using a pressure washer is not the best idea. sure i came off the foor in a hurry, but en ded up EVERYWHERE>
in the end best meythod was to use paint scrapers when it was cold, this way there is not too much sh*t left behind
The best thing you can do then is prime, use a 2-pac undercoat, after you clean al the mess up with wax and grease remover. As for the floor joints, i dug most of this out and used sikaflex to make it smooth, even did the corners so i can hose the inside of the car out.
I painted the floor with 2-Pac industrial floor paint in metallic silver and it looks pimp. engine bay too. the best bit is thhis stuff is cheap and is really tough, i cant scratch it
no scratching sounds good, i was only spraying the floor with that rust stop shit, im not painting tyhe hole inside untill i get my cage fitted. but yeah the paint would stick on the floor. went all strange
