I haven't had time to read this whole thread, but seeing as no-one seems to have posted up weights of items within the car, here goes. I know there will be some discrepancies, but this is what I came up with.
All sound deadening material throughout car: 13kg.
Rear seat (lower part): 6kg.
Rear seat (upper parts): 4kg x 2 = 8kg
All carpet in car: 5kg.
Add it all up gives you around 32kg.
My 14" spare wheel is 16kg.
I have not included weight of rear belt mechanisms etc which would not equate to much anyhow.
I'm not proclaiming these figures are exact, but it might confirm what other people are posting. I certainly wouldn't expect a 25kg reduction just from chipping out your sound deadening alone though...
i just finished removing a total of 25kgs of sound deadening (out of a toyota corona). along with all the other weight loss ive done for it it now is only one ton! with an engine that i putting out about 90kw and 200nm its a pretty good drift base. and its my daily driver, weeeeeee!
but seriously people should think about gettin themselves a corona. theyre worth it.
