The downside to the pfc is the fact that you need to keep your AFM (If you have an AFM GZE, not sure what to do with the MAP versions)

so pretty much, the power FC isn't a Piggy Back and kicks ass, but you have to get model specific?

What does everyone else have? Not just for the ZE either... are you all running OEM?

In the end it comes down to your budget and what you want the ECU to be able to control, there are plenty to choose from..
Why hesitate when you can accelerate???

Find yourself a good tuner that knows what they are doing with "x" particular engine and get the ECU that they like to use and have experience with on that engine.

ECU is only as good as its tuner.

Actually there is a model of the Power FC called the De-Jetro which removes the AFM. Its made by AP Engineering (APEXI), but is slightly more expensive. $800 for the PowerFC is a good price Dave, However be aware the controller to use it is a extra $500 on top of that. Install is easy, need to be retuned though, I would recommend the guys at FIST performance @ Wacol, theyre little monkey tuner has worked magic on the missus's OneVia, and they are doing all the work to my hachi too..........

Power FC's are great plug n play ECU's! i've had em b4 on other cars. However they still have their short falls, the sensors attached must be pretty much original or on the list they provide... Some parts of the menu is in japanese which is a real pain in the butt... takes a bit of time to learn/remember....

As Speedcore said: ECU is only as good as its tuner!

He's 100% right there!! No matter what ecu u have.... unless its tuned by a professional... WHO ACTUALLY SPENDS THE TIME TO GET IT PERFECT... it'll still be rubbish...

If your gonna plan to do plenty of mods plus mix n match parts to get the maximum from engine... theres only two choices really... Motec and Autronic!

These are the BEST money can buy... and they're Aussie...hehehe!!

Porsche Carrera GT was tuned on a motec before the final settings were copied onto a in-house motronic ecu... That just show how versitile and good the ecu is...

Considering the most top Jap Street/Race cars all run Motec... i think its a good idea cuz we can get it so much cheaper than them.... just like the japs would laugh if they heard we pay $1200 for a power fc....

Have a search for 2nd hand units... they're not as expensive as u think... a good investment i think especially if its for a long term project....
