Would any body have an idea of why my car wont rev?

I've got a jdm 4age with computer, the rev limiter is 7800 but when it gets to 7200 the car bogs down and wont rev any more. It makes a really weird sound too

Any ideas would greatly be aprreciated

    cheers

Are you sure the rev limiter is set to 7800... my 4age in my 86 doesn't like revving over 7000... any more and it loses power and feels like its really struggling. Perhaps yours is bouncing at 7200 eg thats where the limiter is set?

JDM 4age rev limiter should be around 7700rpm-7800rpm

if you have a stock 4age your car will make crap all power and be really struggling above 7000 rpm... why rev it higher if its bad for it and doesn't make any power...

this is assuming the motor is stock, my apologies if it isn't

why are you trying to rev it past redline?

power band finishes at about 7000. its probly stopping you from going any further for a very good reason. and if it is making strange noises....stop revving it so high

the whole head has been done and has bigger pistons with a balanced bottom end.

it should want to rev and the limiter is definitely 7700

most sliding in a 4age is done between 5,000 and limiter, it should want to pull to redline

it's not that it doesn't want to pull, its haulin ass, then busts out with this shit

it did the exact same thing tonite at about 6000rpm, feels like the brakes have just been jabbed and makes a weird sound, it will do the exact same thing in any gear or even neutral (when ever it feels like it)

i disconected tvis, trottle position sensors to see if it made a difference but it still does it.

    any suggestions??
