Fuel Tank

In my AE86 I have the JDM 4AGE. My fuel gauge light is always on and my gauge never goes over halfway (it might for a few seconds) and one day it will be almost empty, get in and than it will be back up to halfway. Any ideas?

yeh mine has done the same 4 eva. when its full than it will work for a bit n then between 3/4 and empty it shoots around the place. Best way to find out when you need fuel turn into a corner hard and if it surges than fill it up.

Pull the sender out of the tank and unscrew the casing and bend the little slider thing so it makes proper contact with the reader thing (technical terms here) That should fix the problem.
