I was reading a topic on toymods about the drift battle dvd basic drifting techniques.
I have seen both drift bibble and this dvd, theres a huge difference how these two guys drift. Let me explain.
When dori is using the handbrake, he rides the brakes a little, so theres more upfront weight which makes it easier to handbrake, turns the wheel riding brakes until he approachs the apex and then lifts the handbrake(with the clucth down) and counter steers .
Alexi on the other hand doesnt ride the brakes, he just gets closer to the corner, clucth down, handbrake and steers in, almost all at the same time.

Also when dori shows the shift lock or clucth kick, he explains that you should only to this on wet or snowy surface, once again he rides the brakes so theres less strain on the rear drivetrain, kicks the clucth while riding the brakes and only lets go of the brake when the car starts to slide(theres no heel+toe).
Alexi just kicks the clucth while the gas is down and counter steers and doenst mention the strains this puts on the drivetrain. On this dvd he drifts he's 180 at oran park. On the4th lap explaining the clucth kick he blows 3rd gear, go figure .

Basic drifting techniques can really damage your car, expecially if they are not performed correctly.

....and why assume such a statement....???

But yes.... I dont drift my car, on a track or competitively, as I dont have the funds for such pleasures, or a license right now, plus my car is in many pieces undergoing mods and prep work...... but I did buy my sprinter coz I like hanging tha backside out quite frequently..... (was I supposed to only get a sprinter if I wanted to be a pro driftah or something...???)
so untill I can afford to replaced shit that breaks I aint gona be ''true'' drift'n.....................
