you can buy white walls off ebay sometimes. my mate got some from a shop in sydney for his hg kingswood.

theyre usually painted with acrylic enamel but the thing is if youre going to paint some theyll look gay with the raised writing in them. you want to get some tyres with smooth walls.

any tyre shop can order some in for you. expect to pay a fair amount for them, usually as much as performance tyres

Tyre shops sell them, I once got a couple that had white wall on one side and not whitewall on the other, so that the person could chose to have the whitewall showing or not.

i had a guy come out and do mine on my ke20. He used a little dremel type thing to grind away a 2-3mm groove in the side wall and then used a roller applicator pen thingy (its scientific name) to put the stripe on. Lasted for ages and came up good as new with a little bit of water. They were standard crappy tires too.

Maybe try asking some people in your area on rolla club as there's a few more old schoolers on ther.

fuck ordering shit tyres that are whitewalled.

getting GOOD tyres whitewalled is not dodgy at all.

ive had whitewalls done for years on all my old mazdas.
many different brands and sizes of tyre.

car is jacked up, wheel is spun SLOWLY by motor/seat bizzo whitewall guy owns (hard to explain)

a small groove, like 0.5mm deep, is buffed from sidewall of tyre, to give a smooth surface to paint. wherever you want thru raised lettering or right alongside rim etc. however wide or small u want the wall to be.

acrylic paint is applied thru tiny texta/paint pen looking thing with a roller on the end, the roller being the same size as the bit buffed out earlier.

instant whitewall. looks pimp on older cars running hubcaps. last for ages, ive still got a set on my 1300 wags. tyres are over 4 years old. just give the wall a gentle wash with an old toothbrush everynow and then.

i will get my longchamps done once ive got a new set of rears.
    should look killer.

*note whitewalling cant be done to brand new tyres.. you need to run around on them for a couple of weeks. and give the sidewalls a good couple of scrubs when u wash ur car.
otherwise all the oils in the tyre "bleed" thru into the whitewall and u end up with poo-brownwalls. not cool

Like sly1300 said. Dont order white wall specific tyres for gods sake. the actual tyre would be so crap.

you'd be able to get good tyres and get them done for the same money.
