hi guys im kinda n00b but i bought a set of ngk niridian spark plugs to replace my old ones

i fitted them in and labelled the leads to the dizzy, but when i changed them over the car didnt start and my cd player started acting up all weird?

then i switched them back to the old ones and the car still didnt start?

    im running a jap spec 96kw 4ag

the part numbers on the new sparks are BKR6EIX

the old ones were like BC?????

HELP! my car doesnt start anymore!

    much help appreciated

Ok, dude, dont panic, for starters they're iriduim plugs.

Go over what you moved and changed.
Check that the ignition coil is plugged firmly in.
Check that all grounds are still attached.
Chech there is no water around the dizzy area.
    Check the ignition timing.
    Did you gap the plugs?

If you put back in the old ones and it still doesn't start, it isn't the plugs, check the obvious.
Goodluck, post back if more help is required.

The NGK Iridium option for JDM AE86 4AGE is the BCPR5EIX-11...

I dont know what the hell you have (they sound like S13 plugs actually)

i'll check which ones i have in mine..mine came in a silver box with iridium laser on them mine are a slight grade colder 6, and the gap is pre set, don't tamper with it!@! you can get them in both gaps .8mm and 1.1mm..the last 2 digits tells you the gap.. eg BCPR5EIX-11 is 1.1mm - BCPR5EIX-8 is .8mm

when you ordered the parts you didn't say that they were for in imported JDM AE86 with a 4AGE..you just ordered the parts for an everyday run of the mill granny AE82 rolla right..one thing that i have found, repco etc etc don't know that AE86 came out with 4AGE's and they don't have listings for AE86 4AGE parts..but there the same as AE82 twin-cam parts..eg rotor button, plugs, leads, cap (small difference with cap)...etc etc..

even with that in mind, the old ones still dont work. just checked my car now.. im thinknig its the earthing cable.. cos all my presents on my deck have been reset

    gah..

Go over what you moved and changed.
Check that the ignition coil is plugged firmly in. (checked)
Check that all grounds are still attached. (checked from what i could see)
Chech there is no water around the dizzy area.(maybe the case cos it started to rain abit after everything)
Check the ignition timing. (how do i check that?)
Did you gap the plugs?(what does that mean?)

sorry if im a big n00b. just trying everything possible to work it

One other thing to check (and MANY people make this mistake, but dont like to admit it) just check that the HT leads coming off the distributor are going to the correct plugs. The dizzy cap should have the cylinder number written on each plug, so just trace out each lead one at a time, and make sure the plug end is pushed on properly.
Also check the HT lead from the dizzy to the coil. I lost ignition at the track once because this slipped off just enough to break contact, but it was still hanging on so it looked OK.

yup i have them labeled lead to distributor and dizy is checked

the MOST STRANGEST thing i have is the my radio presents have been reset,

im guessing its the earthing but its way out to be knocked around/out

new battery went in a month ago

oh and i just came back from repco and changed them for laser platinum

    bcpr5ep-11 - new ones

    BCPR5EIX11 - old ones

just put them in just now, and car dials didnt light up now strange though because a new battery was replaced not long ago, gotto wait to get a new battery in then i guess its another try

    thanks for the help guys
