if you are worried about hardness go 6/4 i had 8/6 and shook my brains out! , 7/5 seems to be a comprimise of both track/street but with crap roads i wouldnt even go that hard
I'm really having trouble deciding the srping rates I should go with...
I'm planning to have a streetable/track setup (more leaning to street!) of 6F/4.7R
I've heard 6/4 is a good setup, any ideas? 8F/6R is good I also read but is near the limit to street driving. Where i'm from the roads are absolutely shit house anyways.
So what are your rates?

Yeah, I have 7-4.8 and crap roads shit me to tears. But it is v nice on the track, and feels verry comfortable at speed (eg f-way)
I have 8/6 and its too soft for me. much too soft.
I suspect that if you think those spring rates are much to soft that your shocks may be i needs of adjusting or revalving or replacing unless you have a dedicated race car but even so it would not be overly soft
cheers doug
Yeah, if i wind my shocks out, its all soft squish and comfy, wind them in too much and its as bouncy as ......something thats bouncy
xolent: where are you getting your springs from? i have a bazillion in stock
my street car (ke70) - 4.8 in the front and 4.2 in the rear, not bad, too soft on track
sprinter - was 6.8 and 5.5, but 8 and 6 now...with adjustable shocks, thick swaybars etc..
i'm planning to get the rears off greenline (TRD) and the front from whiteline
Well actually Im running the 8kg front and 6kg rear, with short stroke KYB AGX adjustable inserts, front strut cut 40mm and spaced 10mm,
rear im running the shortest shocks you have ever seen, so no, Im not out of stroke length.
I gues its all down to opinion. I think 8/6 is fairly soft although iw ill be upgrading swaybars front and rear.
i wouldn't mind having both these rates... but for now i would have to stick with one rate for a while.
gotta lose something to gain something i guess
