the lips are machined from the factory. just use paint stripper to get the paint off. will take a few hits to get it all off.
Bronze, Raw or Charcoal with no polished lip.

Factory matte charcoal/bronzey black is the ONLY color watanabes should EVER be IMO.
pics or it didnt happen
stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
silver would be the 2nd choice
I personally much prefer the two color option, especially if they are a good offset makes the wheels look a whole lot better, flat black just give its a boring apperence
no pics as yet, camera has been broke for a good month lol
at the moment its still flat front and wearing challengers but have quads, and mk3s in shed
thinking of going raw then, in that case they would be raw metal centres with polished lip according to slydar
I think it would look rad
So now paint stripper or blast rims??
Cheers, Ben.
if you blast them it will have a sand blasted surface texture.
thats my old ke. those watas were painted black (badly) and i used paint stripper to get them to look like that.
use gloves, and get some steel wool. the steel wool helps to get the almost un stuck bits of paint off.
but either way, it will still take a few goes to get it all off.
lay the stripper on thick, and dont disturb it.

Stripping paint off wheels is 1 hell of a messy task... works though
got a better pic of the rims after you stripped them?
Cheers, Ben.
