    hi guyz ive put my jap spec rear end in but i dont know how the hell
    im going to reconnect the hand brake cable it lookz a little long 4 da
    jdm discz...can i still use the stock cable & recut it to fit?

    hahahahahaha, love that line.

    hmm, is it just me or are the disc handbrake cables hugely different to drum ones?

    in the way they engage....

    so u probably cannot use the original ones.

    Hey " Road Sailing" if your not going to help then get the f*** of this forum.

    My mate is trying to ask whether it can be done in very gangsta version of english.
    What he is trying to say is whether the stock aus spec handbrake cable can be used by modifying it or does he have to buy a new one from Toyota. Someone around here must use japspec rearends and have had the same problem.

    I just used some marine grade steel wire clamps from bunnings to shorten mine, just looped it in a S shape and clamped it together and its held up for 6 months so far

    You either need new cables (all 3 of them) or you do what Scott suggests.

    Do people talk like that in real life or just on forums? The centre cable down the transmission tunnel is common to both. The cable that branch off from here to the calipers are different but available. The mounting points to the body which are in a different place are there though.
