    Ok, say if the original bore is 81mm, to sleeve it you would take it out as far as you could (the cylinder) and slide in a sleeve with the inside of 81mm and the OD of the bored out block, the sleeve would be made of something crazy.

    The main reason for boring out cylinders isn't really to gain capacity; you have longer rods and offset cranks for that) but to increase compression, which im sure your all aware in NA cars is your frinds. deck the head, thinner headgasket and BAM! 12.0:1 comp and YEEgods!

    But overboring and increased compression are not directly related. You can deck the block and head with a standard bore and achieve high compression. Boring cylinders is usually to clean up any scars on the sidewalls caused by previous damage or if the block has already been re-honed a couple times.
