    Red face

hey fellas...i know this is kinda a sprinter site...but if my question isnt answered here than ill search elsewhere...

so, to the original topic.... i just wanted to know, if it is possible to change the foot handbrake, to a normal hand pulled handbrake...and apart from it been possible, would it cost too much?

i was just looking at the possability of a sh!tbox chaser to get sideways, for a reasonable price...its only a sh!tty version...think its the SX80 with the cr@py 4S-FE engine, round the 1989 age i think...

any help would be appreciated fellas,

    thanks in advance

yes it's possible, you use the parts from an MX83 or GX81 etc with a normal handbrake setup.

Get the handbrake assembly and console surround, from memory that's all you need. The bolt holes are already in the car.

if you go to a wrecker and remove all the parts you need yourself, it shouldn't cost much at all.

What Australian wreckers would have chaser parts? I thought they were only imports.

    Are you in Australia, R1CHYY?
If you are, just use a Cressida! Easy! Cheap! Lawn Bowls Ready!
Not to mention being basically the same car without the pillarless bits, body wobbles and flex issues...

im guessing from CHA54's post, the cressida and chaser parts are interchangable?

atm, it was just a thought, i wanted an idea of the kind of work that would be needed to make a shit chaser slide happy... so far i dont like the idea...sounds like too much of a hassle...but it was a thought.... thanks for the info anyways fellas...helped alot

p.s. i personally think the chaser looks better then the cressida

If changing a handbrake is too hard, just what were you planning to do about the 4S-FE?

nah the handbrake wasnt what put me off...just the work in general...engine conversion of course, coilovers etc...assuming it would be hard as f#k to get some of these items for the chaser and also expensive...and i can imagine alot of parts having to be custom...

so yeh...but i thought it might be different...and i i figured it could be possible...but thats only because of my thoery that its similar to the laurel
