    205's are the ghey...

    maybe your cars handles shit?

or the tyres you have now are softer rubber,

maybe try the same tyre in a 185 or 195...

i wouldnt run 205 on a 14, unless it was at least 8.5 inch wide

205's foul on the body, especially if you run your car low...

it is also to do with weight per wheel etc and 185 is plenty enough for a 900kg corolla,

185 provide plenty of response and are very common in a 14...

I agree, I'm running 185/60/14 Yokohama s306 and I'm very happy with the grip I get.

On my KE I have on the front

    1 x yoko A539 185/60/14
    1 x yoko A520 185/60/14

Both are awsome tyres and are a similar compound, but different pattern

    On the rear I use

    2 x bridgestone RE88 185/60/14

imo the best 14" drift tyre ever!!111

On my AE86 is use Brigestone G3s on the steer in 195/50/15

on the rear I use any 195/50/15.

i dont really see a problem with the 205/50/15 size
It must really be a offset problem if its rubbing on the inner side of the guards
86's dont have that much suspension travel that you can really every hit the inner guards in the rear .That alll easy to fixed and just look at the tyre contact area how can it handle crap ?

    here :

And a 14x8.5 , thats stretching the tyre passed the point of usefully outer contact area

You all might as well add your sizes in and see how the gearing is all higher than the stock wheel ratio

I am now looking for a 225/45/16 which is 238mm tread width

You are all going to ask why 16" , well that because i can choose any make of road tyre or semi slick , and a 240 slick . With 14' 15' manufactures aren't bothering doing every size now . Also clears the calipers and 300mm disc which might get another eight pistons added to the front soon

i used to use a set of 205/50/15 in Yoko advan 032RS and kumoh ecsta supra... not too bad... although i think 195/55 feels a bit better... still not a bad choice... i definately wont want any wider though....
