We found out what the case was...
Pulled the sump off and #4 just had no bearing, nothing!
My guess 1 of 2 things happened; either when it got a rebuild (dodgy at that) the 4th bearing was merely forgotten, or somehow the bearing has been worn down that much....
Glad i dont have bent rod or crank, but the crank is scarred so ive just got as much work to do.... just as well im finding this now

When I pulled my engine down to rebuild it, the bearing on number 4 rod just fell out.
(there usually held in tightly)..
Asked my engine builder freind why, and he said its from detonation.
Perhapse number 4 gets alot hotter than the other cyclinders causing it suffer detonation, and then hammer the shit out of the rod bearing.....
