hmm im not sure mine was welded when i got the car. aparenlty people fill it up with old nuts and bolts and weld all that shit in so it doesnt break or someting, so ive herd anyway
ewww S series diff's r POS's to weld. uw ont be able to wedge much of a plate in there at all, just grab the mig and fill the star gears up!
Woodwoolf - your diff was welded, i was there when it was getting done.
Yeah im going to mig mine. just not sure what the bets way is.. i dont belive in throwing bolts in.. im more then happy to pull apart the whole diff if it means getting the best lock out of it.
so you think the strongest method is to weld up the star gears?
i dont know anythign about diffs.. let me do a search for some diff pics and see if you can point them out to me..
Theres a shot of the welded diff..
feel free to draw on it for me, and point out whats what
just weld everything lol, i got no idea
Yep see in that pic how all 4 spider gears are welded to each other and its outside cover. Do it like that.
EDIT: make sure u do both sides
some how i think that aint an s series,
cos mine just had 4 holes that u could see the spider gears, welded done
thats just not right in my eyes
