i thought the AE82 bigport ecu had a spd pin too... but whats on the other end in your 86..?? thats what you need to work out..
just wondering where to get an electrical speed signal for the apexi rev speed meter. the t50 has a mechanical speed output, but the RSM needs an electric one. i know there is an electric output on the jap ae86's, because apexi have the pin out on the ecu for it, but what about aus spec?
i have heard about using a hall effect unit?
anyone got one working?

i dont really know what your asking.
obviously there is the mechanical speedo cable that plugs into the ae86 instrument cluster, and on the cluster (the jap one at least) pin number 7 is the speed output.
what i want to do is run a custom dash with basically a monster tacho for revs, and then an RSM for speed.
need to find a way to make it happen
I would be interested to in this as i am running a WOLF 3D v4 and a gen 1 apexi RSM + a W55 gear box on my 4AGTE.
4saken would you be able to send/upload the pinout please
thanks
right there mate. have a look at pin 7 (speed sensor goes to efi computer)
How would i setup a RSM with a wolf 3D? I have a KE70 dash with a speedo cable.
track back the wires to the spedo, there so be a reed switch around there somewere
The speed signal comes from the digital JDM dashes . Its still its cable driven into the rear of the dash unit then inside the unit is the speed sensor . If you bypass the signal from the dash to the ecu you can sometime still have the check engine light come on above 180ks . This is also the same if cutting the factory rev limiter .
so a digital or electronic speedo is out of the equation unless i hack apart a digital or jdm dash.
