Ok, it looks like I might be purchasing a 4agze head, which I had intended to be part of a mongrel bitza n/a motor I'm going to build. I was just wondering what differences there were between the n/a and sc versions of the bigport head? I searched and found out the cams are different but couldnt find any other info.

    Thanks guys!

From what I have been able to find, the only difference is the cam covers. ZE says "SUPERCHARGER" GE doesn't... suprise suprise.

EDIT after some research - Also the cams MAY be different. Apparently it is only the early "Bluetop" bigport 4AGE that has the 7.56mm lift 240deg cams.

    Thanks for that hen.

The cams aren't massively important cos i intend to change them later anyway. Supercharged cam covers on an n/a car could be good for a laugh anyway, haha

Matty, I've heard that said before, though it ended up being strongly debated.

Where did you get that info from?

you can pyhsically notice the difference.. the 232's are really sharp on the top of the lobe, and the 240's are noticibly smoother.. or you can just check part numbers

    13501-16030 - 232's intake
    13502-16020 - 232's ex

    13501-16010 - 240's intake
    13502-16010 - 240's ex

    hope that helps

If you get Drift Battle Number 7 it has a write up of all the differnt AE86 engines that people use and the differences between the engines.

I wouldn't trust that writeup as gospel. It also seemed to pull a lot of info from Phil Bradshaws 4AGE page (though there are many others out there also with good info)
