Hi, I have a problem with my diff on my standard ae86('84) When i driving around a corner and kick the gas, only the inner wheel spins(so the car dont drift) My friends ae86 spins both whels and will drift.... So is there any parts in the diff i can renew? Or any other things to do? I have changed the oil in it. Or is it a god ide to change all the parts in the diff to some other parts, like cusco and so? Any body knows a cheap and god website with lsd's?!

This quest was were difficult for my bad english to write, so hope you understand me

    Regards
    Jack(denmark)

does it normally do both? maybe your friends one is fitted with a LSD and yours isn't... easy way to check if it is from factory is the last didgit on the diff code (compliance plate) diff - T29*

    haha poor mattyshop

yeah matty's right, you need an LSD (Limited Slip Differential).

hen do u speak danish properly? or was that just a web translation? cause if it was it probly says like "my brother, you are on LSD. go good drift! with many wheels" or something stupid like that, those web translators suck

No. I can't blame it on a translator, I just speak bad Danish naturally. It's been years and I don't get much of a chance to use it.

ok, but everybody in dk tells me that there has not been sold any ae86 with out lsd in dk. I can also tell in denmark the only model is the levin 3 doors. We dont have trueno. To tomorrow i will check the digits on the diff for the t29 "code"...

Hen is a total nutcase, dit dansk er vist bedre end mit engelsk :-) Maa man spørge hvordan du har lært dansk PS er mekaniker selv, så må prøve og skille det af og se på det!

T-292 or T-282 would be most likley

    T - series diff (6.75" crownwheel)
    28 - 4.3 ratio
    29 - 4.1 ratio
    (there are many others, )
and the last digit means either LSD or open centre (factory ofcourse)

    2 - open centre (2 pinion)
    3 - 2 pinion LSD
    4 - open center (4 pinion)
    5 - 4 pinion LSD

    hope that helps..

if it is an LSD and it is opening up to 1 wheel.. befor you take it out to get it rebuilt.. try changing the diff oil.. somtimes they respond well to a good thick LSD oil 140w..
