Does anyone know what these wires are for? Both are located behind glovebox. Big plug looks like a cluster connection (redundant for LHD?). Nearby is a long black & white wire with bare male connector on the end. In a JDM coupe.

certainly looks alot like a instrument cluster plug.. but usually they dont do redundancies for lhd cars, its cheaper to just use differnt looms...

possibly A/C control wires? or possibly central locking? if ur car doesnt have it

Did they come with factory central locking? Only other option I don't have is a sunroof. Is this plug found on an Australian wiring loom?

The black and white one could be from the stereo - it came with a pretty funky stereo but the wires had been cut up and some speakers removed.

they did come with central locking i believe as an option in jap land.. that wouldnt be for sunroof, at the most you got 6 wires.. tilt up, tilt down, open, shut, power, ground

the black and white wire.. probably wouldnt be for speaker considering its on its own...

It definitely isn't an instrument cluster plug as it has a double row of terminals. My Jap loom doesn't have one that looks anything like it. Maybe power windows/central locking? Definitely not power mirrors. Sunroof wires run above the driver side kick panel junction box and are only 2 or 3 wires from memory. LHD cars have specific looms, and USDM cars have totally different looms. I reckon the other black white ones are some sort of radio thing. Is that fuse holder part of the wire?

You car was auto and that plug is the auto box's computer. My auto twinky AE82 loom has the same plug. The car is from Japan also.

Sounds like we have a winner! I don't have a complete list of the mods done to this car in its former life, but each time I look at it I find something else. I wonder if it has been converted, or whether they all have this plug. Code on the compliance plate should tell me?

The black wire is looking more and more like a speaker wire that has been patched into the factory loom.

    Thanks for the help guys.

You might be able to see where they have drilled holes etc for the clutch master cylinder thru the bulkhead, whether they have been primed and painted or the metal left bare
