use the search button, but just quickly:

    - the standard sump is fine

    - it will bolt right in to the original box

    - Use the clutch and flywheel that comes with the engine but put a spigot bearing in

    - use a rwd 4age water pump and alternator

dont just buy the first engine that you see come up for sale, shop around on different forums and engine importers. i managed to get an engine/gearbox combo delivered to my workshop for $650 , jap spec engine with everything on it and a oz spec box. i waited 3 months until i found the right one.

I'd like to know this too

Do all engine sellers sell it with the gearbox, flywheel and clutch? ANd is all wiring ECU etc included?

How much do mechanics charge to get it installed and is there any post tranplant issues to be aware of?

i dont know of guide sorry, but im just finishing up my 4age conversion...

as sam said, sump and gearbox fit in fine. 4ac gearbox is the exact same as 4age, no difference.

if you can see if you can find a engine with a clutch and flywheel. i maybe a bit confused at what sam said

but i know 4ac flywheel wont fit onto a 4age as 4ac has 6 flywheel bolts and 4age has 8.
Bit of a heads up too, the 4ac flywheel bolts dont fit either on the 4age flywheel so see if you can get them too.
if you cant find em toyota will have em, just have to wait a week or so.

Basically, if i can help at all by sparing the pain i had in this:

    - Dont just rush in buy and engine and start straigt away
    - get a list down of everthing you need and buy it before you touch a single bolt on the 4ac
    - budget!!!! i cannot beleive i didnt do this, but it screwed me over. im just a casual shift worker so i ran out of money quite easily, and started spending each pay packet.

i really havent tally'd up how much i spent, but without giving an under-estimate id say youll be looking at about $2000 including buying the engine. This is if you do the work yourself tho.

if noone else does it for you i can later list out everthing i can think of that you need to buy, and others can add or tell you otherwise etc...

    good luck mate
