You would have to pad it with approved pading and have the rear seats removed and register youre car as a 2 seater -probably better to engineer it while youre at it

So long as the bars don't go forward of the B Pillar its legal in NSW. I'd chat to the RTA about it anyway.

yes half cages are legal in QLD, full cages are now not.
