anyone know how big a diameter each one of the gtr throttles are?
"The inlet throttle butterfly is 55mm in diameter, and will flow more air than any amount of power that you can get out of the 4AGE with the factory inlet manifold, so there is no need whatsoever to fit a larger one, as some people do. I have seen a report on a dyno run that shows an engine with a 60mm throttle body fitted - ~20% more throttle area - making about 1 - 2hp more, which is more likely to be dyno error than anything else."
i was just reading through bill sherwoods page and this got my attention so i thought i would chuck it hear!
i spose if you want to flow more air for N/A, get quads. for turbo i spose the bigger the better!
im using a large FJ20 item for my silvertop turbro.

a bloke on the old forum has run an sr20 on his 4age thinking it would do a difference he was very wrong IMO save the cash throw some longer duration cams in there that's what im doing
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
Sprinter86 is correct... there is no chance of maxing out the stock throttle body on a standard manifold...
And as for bigger is better with turbo... This is not true also...
Found an arctical on a sr20 drifter the other day... 509whp with standard 60mm T/Body and standard mani...
A freind of mine makes over 500whp and only runs a 65mm throttle body...
Standard 4a one is fine....
Buy a Hi comp head gasket instead.... You will actually see a gain for doing that...
use the 7mgte t/b Externally same size as the 4age.. internally 5mm bigger in the bore. 60mm compared to the 55mm 4age.. Gains are there to be made but you need the supporting mods to gain them.. Turbo!!!
There is a reason why sr20 owners use the n/a t.b its because it needs it to make power.. No point having a good flow turbo/exhaust/afm and intake not being able to support it.. Its common sense really
hay reece is the 7mgte throttle body a direct bolt on if so there is you answer Dish

from memory it is direct bolt on hard to find tho
Seen a 200hp NA 4A with standard throttle body.
