just glancing through the members rides, and there is just asmuch ae71's as there is sprinters?

now is the only reason the people that chose the ae71 is because of the price?

just wondering because if they are basically the same (apart from body styles) i would rather save the extra $3k that would go to a sprinter and dump that on hte engine / suspention etc

    share your reasons!

I paid $500 for my ae71, all the ae86's i found in similar condition were $2000+, so they are pretty good value, the only thing to remember is that if you want to run ae86 suspension you will need to change the brakes and steering arms for ae86 items, and you will need the front half of the ae86 tailshaft to mate up to the rear half of a t18 shaft should you want run a t series diff.

ae86 seats are not a direct bolt in either. They bolt into ke70's though, which is strange, but there you go.

Apart from that they look hot slammed on dished rims, but if you've got anymore questions pm me or add me to msn.

Basically as gilly said, im mad about ae86s however when i bought my ae71 i couldnt afford a quality one.
I guess the other thought is that ke70's are just generally a cheap bash, almost any idiot can slide one(no attack on anyone on these forums).

only get an 86 if you absolutely must have the looks.

ae71 is just as good as a base to start with. as well as being alot cheaper

yep i have a ke55 that i learnt to slide, then upgraded to a ke70 now have an ae71 thats in the process of gettin rust cut out that only cost us 700 buks in real good condition, also alot of old people own 71s compared to the sprinters you find these days so that means nice boxes diffs and motors that get serviced regularly!
