    hey guys

as some of you already know DRF786 and I of this forum have both done 4ac to 4age conversions ( 1: 16V, 2: 20V) now with the problems

First with DRF786 4age silvertop 20V Stock ecu. We had just change the waterpump, radiator and added thermo fans. We had put it all back together it cranks over but does not want to start. We have checked over the main things: Battery, Altnator, all connections and ground. We had removed the timing belt but had put it back exactly how we taken it off ( Hopefully )

now with mine 4age 16v bigport Stock ecu. I had just put everything together today primed the fuel pumps etc etc. I turned it over and it was cranking but would not start. It backfired twice but not huge ( maybe because i only have the extractors on no backpressure? ) i had checked all engine grounds from the wiring diagrams they seem to be ok.

help would be both appreciated by DRF786 and myself!

    cheers

    jace

actually im 92.53% sure that i did put the timing belt wrong, but i thought it would stil start juss be a really bad idle..

Also, the fan isnt hooked up yet. I was told that there should be a plug coming out the back of the head of the silvertop thats my temp sensor. How can i get the fan to work with it? The thermo i took is a front mounted fan from a r31 its got a postive and negative wire on it.

My bro knows how to hook up a 4pin relay, but i dont know where to get the temp sensor signal from. Can i get it straight from the ecu or do i use that plug at the back of the head?

    any help would be appreciated

Not really, they will just not run or run like crap. 4As are non-interference, so you wont munch valves and pistons.

Check you're getting fuel, and spark. Check your ignition timing. Then track down whatever is missing.

Also make sure your battery is good, that's bitten me a couple of times.

mine wouldnt start once cos it had no power to the injectors for some reason - get a noid light and check your injectors are pulsing, or even that you are getting a constant power to them (they are switched earth). also check spark - put a screwdriver in the spark lead and almost earth it to the chassis and crank it - should see spark (in case you didnt already know to do that!
