    Angry

ha ha well i guess everybody has their own opinions

    BUT!!

does any1 know if 15x7 +11 will fit on the rear of an 86 with coilovers?

would 195 stretch enough or should i go 4 185's?

and if they will rub will a slight rolling of the guard help?

    cheers

I have 15x7 0 offset on the rear and they fit fine, i dont have the coilovers thou. I was mucking about under there yesterday and id say with 90% confidence that those rims would work for you.

A small 10-15mm spacer would help if you got stuck.

195 tyre is as narrow as id go if you still want the tyre to help avoid gutter scratch on the rims.

185 would be strecthed but still inside what most would call reasonable stretch.
    Insert witty comment here....

why do most sprinter drivers use wide ass rims but narrow tyres?

    arnt wider rims=wider tyres?

ie 15x8 runing a 225 with 50 hight would be idead but tyres stretchiing?

to fit the wide rim under the guard, people stretch tyres over.. its like cheating =P

Stretching tyres does have some benefit besides aesthetics and fitting. A stretched tyre has more strength/stability in the sidewall. It results in a bit less flex while under cornering load. The difference is noticable.

Oh, and also... you can take the guess work out of chosing new rims for your car. Work out the backspace of the wheel and then get under your car and measure the available backspace.

For example... your 15x7 +11. The backspace on this wheel will be approximately 7x25/2 (centre of rim) + 11 (offset) + 10 (this is approximate, and accounts for the fact that the width of a wheel is measured to the inside bead, not the outside of the rim) =~ 110mm. So take your back wheel off and look what will limit the fitment of the new rim ie. what will hit first. Then measure from the mounting face of the hub backwards to the offending component. Remember to add anywhere between 0-15-20mm depending on your tyre choice.
