weird....
have this really wierd thing wrong with my car... every gear is fine except for when youre in second if you flatten it power is severly reduced until about 3500rpm then the power kicks in again, i think that it also caughs out a chunk of smoke, not sure on that though... it has done this problem in the past but saughta went away after awhile.
a pre thankyou
weird....
gee lots of information for diagnosis right there.
For starters What car? What engine? What ECU?
If you give crap information people can't diagnose anything. If you notice threads where people provide good information up front - they get a better response.
right yep yep sorry chill out lol...
its a toyota corona 1985 with a 22re stock ecu basic breathing and exhaust mods and an oil catch can. gearbox is a W58 i think... the big fukin strong one... think its the same as old supra and hilux.
anything else let me know
check plugs, and fuel filter.. (check meaning change!!)
usually you need to go through a few steps to eliminate possibilities.. also consider dumping an entire can of carby cleaner through it's guts, and as many of the emmisiones lines/valves you can.. don't be scared to go crazy with it.. and it will idle very shitty if at all for about 5 seconds when you first start it after giving the throttle body etc a good working over with it..
also an injector cleaner after those wouldn't hurt.. prolly get an extra 50-60km's per tank after all this anyway!!
sorry i have to say this....you have a corona! They came from factory with an engine which sounds on the verge of death yet never quite kicks the bucket!!
sorry but after reading the other problems that you are having with the car i just had to say it!!!
Now being helpful i reckon it sounds like it is either getting to much fuel or too little air. do the stuff mattyshop said becuase he actually knows what he is talking about then check the ignition side of things. if it is ignition it will be dirty plugs but also check that the coil is firing properly.....hold the business end of the center lead and get a friend to turn the engine over. Voltage is measured by how far you get off the ground.
Also try wandering into a mechanics and getting them to check over the car....make sure you tell them how you held onto the coil lead, it will make them like you!!! Seriously tho did you get the other problem you had?? If not take it to a mechanics cos there is definately something wrong with your car!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! i'm using that one!!!
yeah the funniest thing is i know someone who actually used this technique when trouble shooting the engine on a bren gun carrier.....but he was a nutter anyway!!!
Also i'm kind of feeling a bit silly cos i just realised that i mixed kiechi up with some other fella so just ignore what i said about the other problem you had with your car cos it is entirely possible that you didn't actually have one!!!!!!
hehehehehe i'm soooooo silly (tool)

Well spoken Cerby
"how far you get off the ground" i must try that one as well.
Your problem, sounds like what mattyshop has suggested.
Just an out of tune motor. Mattyshops ideas will/should help with your delima's.
Speaking of which, i must change my fuel filter.
Insert witty comment here....
