chucked $15 of united 98 + 10% in yesturday just to see what it was like (yes i am well aware of what it can do). my thoughts were jdm ae86 ecu + upgraded fuellines= nothing to lose.

my findings were that it had a loss in power and the extremely noticable power band was almost non existant. the regular fuel i use is v power because there is a shell <50m away from my house .

what fuels do u people find to be the best? does anyone regularly run an ethanol blended fuel?

leave your findings and opinions here

    cheers,

    stefan

Dude, i've recently tried the Shell V Power Racing (100+ octane) in my S15, definately made a difference. I used to think BP ultimate is better than Optimax and i used it exclusively in my tuned 20v. But the new V power racing definately makes more power (in my S15)... i've switched between them many times now... i'm very convinced! Although not tested on a dyno yet. BP ultimate gets more km's out of a tank though... on average about 30-50km more per tank.

I use the V-Power racing when I race and any of the 98 octanes for daily driving, never had any real dramas with fuel. I run a knocklink so I can keep an eye on detonation. This is in my WRX.

I use either caltex or bp 98 in mine. I'm not too worried. With the stocko engine after i blew up the good one, it was slow anyway! So I didn't really care. I'll probably continue to run Ultimate when the good one is rebuilt
Not a fan of ethanol fuels though.... Although it is very detonation resistant, not much good unless tuned properly.
