heya guys anyone who has built a 7age motor, might be able to help me.
Im running the 4age crank sprocket, what timing belt did you use?
I have heard that the porsche 924/944 cam belts can fit, is this true?
thanks

Take a look here:
Good write up on building a 7age, just in case you can't see it here's an extract:
Parts Cost
4AGE engine (you should have one of these!)
late 7AFE engine with metal head gasket (low mileage import from Japan are now easily available, mine still had original honing marks in the cylinder bores and was in very good condition) (from an Avensis I think) 300
Brown injectors from 1985 Celica GT (3SGE engine) 50
Adjustable cam pulleys (piper cams) 150
Timing belt (Porsche 944 1986) there are two belts listed the one required is the timing belt not the countershaft belt 11
212mm clutch AE92 corolla GTI 1992 100
3/4inch water hose about 5cm Cheap
Chris
thanks very much for that info.
leaving a 7a standard with a 4age head is a waste of time
listen to it go bang the first heavy flogging it gets
hehe, i think mine will then!! got a turbo on it also! will build a good one then.
use gates P/N T107. think its from a 944 from memory. good idea to use ajustable cam gears also.
porsche timing belt ? how much for it ?
there about $40 bucks
probly the only cheap part about a porsche, mind you the 944 is a bit of a poor a mans porsche!
got trade discount one mine, was $45 from autopro. cheaper than a 4age belt!
