take out the inner guards
I pulled off my front wheels after my first drift day to discover that they had been rubbing on the inner guards. Im told this is no good as the wheel thats rubbing will slow down making it a pivot point causing you to spin. I've just bought power steering arms and spacers for more lock so the problem is about to get worse. I'm running 14 x 7 +8 wheels with 195/60 tyres. I plan to stretch some smaller tyres over the wheels which should help a bit but i wouldnt think enough. Is there a solution other than spacing the wheels out or getting better offset wheels? What exactly is mini tubbing?
take out the inner guards
Not the plastic inner guard, thats long gone. I mean on the body behind the strut.
185/60/14 tyres should make a fair bit of difference. They have a smaller diameter as well as being thinner.
theres a lip the faces the rear of the car that can be bashed in for more clearence, is it rubbing there?
30kw club
pic would be good, but i think i know what you mean.
rubbing at the rear of the wheel arch?
if so castor is your friend.....
castor is good... or could run sigma lcas for more clearance
sigmas are bad
Xt130 arms are better, sigma arms would indeed provide more clearance, you get gay camber though, as in too much, as in V8 suercar style
sort of closing the door on one problem then opening it again to find another...
if you're talking about the seam at the rear of the wheel arch, rip that wheel off and give it a fair couple of whacks with a hammer thats what i did
just beware thats your floorpan there so if ur gunna knock it in try and make it neat
Ok it is rubbing on the back a bit (the small circles) im already at max caster 4.5deg and also rubbing on the front bumper. I'm not too concerned about this as it's not rubbing much. The main concern is the big circle on the far side. Im already running 3.5deg neg camber and increased track due to ncrca's and camber tops.
