Giday, have you actually seen this work? Reason being, the rwd crank pulley has a different offset to the fwd crank pulley
e.g. rwd on left, fwd (gze) on right

Even if you were to use the rwd waterpump pulley and rwd water pump the belt will not perfectly line up with the fwd crank pulley.

Ive read of lots doing this. So im guessing the 1-2mm difference in offset is not enough to upset the belt?

I'd like to hear from someone who has the above setup (rwd pump and pulley) and is still using the fwd crank pulley.

    cheers

I think the main pulley closest to the motor lines up ok. The outer pulley is only used for A/C or power steer. I don't use that so I have machined mine off to make it lighter.

i have the same as you, a 4age configured for rwd, running a fwd water pump and alternator from an ae82/92 corolla.

i know for a fact that a rwd 4AC water pump is longer and the pulley sits further forward. this obviously uses a different kind of pulley and fan belt as well, not the 5PK 4AGE belt.

but even if you swap the pulley on the 4ac water pump it doesnt line up.

it is certainly easier to use the fwd waterpump, alternator brackets and an external thermostat. because the rwd stuff is hard to find and people charge STUPID amounts for it. there is a really good guide on this site i remember looking at.

    hope that makes sense

instead of starting a thread i thought i would add my question to this one,

what is the deal with the bigport water outlet on the back of the head, the one with 2 sensors in it, obviously the pipe runs to side of head where the hose conects to it but what is the deal with that little pipe coming off the main pipe at right angles about 6-7mm wide?

whats it for? and how do u block it up

    cheers

Are you talking about the heater hose outlet?

Or are you talking about a little water hose? Small water hoses would originaly go to the throttle body to warm it up. People often discard this function.

Most EFI Toyotas have 3 water temp sensors. One little old style one for the temp gauge. One newer style one for the computer. And one often near the thermostate to turn the fan on (but RWD Toyotas don't have electric fan).
