Default EFI fuel pump wiring, help please

    Hi all,

I'm wiring my ae82 big port into a ke70, with ae82 loom, the fuel setup is a vl lift pump and high pressure pump.

My question is what do the wires from these fuel pumps connect to?

All the wiring diagrams i have say circuit opening rly (1) or FP. What is this and where is it? In layman's terms please.

    Any help appreciated.

COR or circuit opening relay, opens the fuel pump (+ve) feed once the ecu detects a constant rpm. (I believe) either way, the ecu knows the engine is running.
Circuit opening relay is a 5 wire relay. One out to the fuel pump, blue with black trace, a green with red trace wire from the ecu (open signal) a white with black ground wire, a black with red switched power feed from efi main relay and a black with white from the starter motor switch.
Circuit opening relay is highly recommended, as it prevents the fuel pump from running, if the engine is shut off in the event of an accident etc.
On my small port loom, the COR was mounted to the top of the unit, also in a bigport AE82, its in the same location, however I think it is mounted somewhere not on the case but in the near vacinity.
I can send you a photo of a COR and the little plug which plugs into it, but apparantly people in SA are jerks...

Ive got a diagram that shows this, will put it up in 5mins

-12V ignition is a black red wire (comes from efi main relay in enginebay fusebox on ae86)
-Start signal is the 12V starter motor wire that comes from the key barrel
-COR wire is the green/red wire off ecu 3rd body harness plug.

When ecu activates COR, it makes COR earth which completes (latches) the first relay. When cranking, the 12V start signal completes the second relay.

Yes, you need a COR or fuel pump relay to control the pumps. There's some info .

Run the power (with some decent sized wire, you'll probably be pulling 6-8Amps or so) through a fuse and COR, then to the + on the pumps. From the - on the pumps you can run an equally sized wire to a GOOD earth point on the body down the back of the car.
