Has anybody done or seen a 13b rotor conversion in an ae86? I'm looking to do it and was wondering if it is an easy fit? Not going to drft it so torque isn't my big concern. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.Thanks.

My younger bro did one years ago, was quite easy and was quite fast. minor mods 182kw at the treads, did a 12.54 at the drags. we used a haltec fuel only with a 12turbo dissy(engine was a series 4 turbo motor) we did some mods to the throttle body assy to free it up and free flow exhaust.
Sweet. Thats exactly what i wanted to hear. Just have to wait for my kevin rudd stimulus sponsorship money to arrive.
A rotary conversion for 900 bucks.??
Where you get your engines.. My friends would love to know...
My friends work in a SMALL (only 2 ppl) rotary shop and one guy does almost nothin but rebuilds EVERYDAY...
Rotars are great.... Whould be balla in an 86
Even a NA mild port would be fun..
No I just need the nine hundred to assist. Got about four grand so far, so I should come pretty close. Lots of friends to help as well. Should skip along pretty well from all estimates.
So you got 2g.???
Not to sound sceptical.
But i don't think that'll get you even close unless you already have an running engine and box..
There's a lot that adds up...
just little things like fuel lines, clamps, oil, ect can add up to a couple of hundred
Plus you'll need a tail shaft made... or at least one moddified... there's a good $200 min.
Then of corse you got the basics. engine mounts, radiator, fuel system BRAKES.
I just spent $4000 doin a 4a conversion into my car... And that was most parts mates rates and I did all the work myself...(that also covers suspention and brakes)
If you can get it done for 2k your a very talented man..
Hope it comes together for you...
I've been witness to some crazy fast rotars.
FARK
nicely built motor for that too?
No No.. I've got slightly more than 4Grand, plus the handout, plus whatever i save in the next couple of weeks. Should be enough to at least have it well underway hopefully. See how we go. Appreciate the input.
Ok thats sweet then....
Have so many frinds that gecied there gunna do X engine swap did in and realise they have no where near enough cash and then end up with a car that sit in the garage. Then they loss intrest and sell it...
Have on such car in my garage. Been here for 6 months and all the lazy pricks has done to it is fit some braided brake lines... Didn't even want him to bring his car over in the first place... I have no doubt it wil still be sittin in roughly the same spot in another 6 months.
As for your project..
Really depends on what engine you decide on. Turbo or NA ect...
Mounting up a rotary is pretty damed easy though.
So to should everything else be..
Not like your fitting for space like when you do an SR conversion (Its not fun)
do a search on this site the topic has been covered b4 a couple of times i dont think its easy i think you have to mod cross members an stuff gear box is heps bigger to from memory
awsome conversion i say bridgeport turbo 45r or 47r
