hey everyone, i am looking at buying coilovers for my ae86 but i want something that gives the car nice handling in mountains n stuff " not so much for drifting", at a resonable price...

is there any previous posts that discuss this topic?

If not what would be the best option an 86 in this style of driving?

    cheers!

If money is not an issue, trust/greddy (advan, what ever you want to call it) make coils for the ae86.

Stiff coilovers would not be a really good idea for mountains as the font of the car would be bumping off the road left right and center.

I think when most people look at coilovers they probably go for about a 8kg spring, however, i would say if you just want pleasant driving with the car still having good handling through mountain roads you may want to look at around 6kg at most. It all depends how the rest of the car is setup.... i dont know much about these, but you probably want to look into some RCA's as i hear these reduce bump steer quite alot.

Dave from AJPS will know what you need to get if you want to have a chat to him, otherwise youll probably have to have a look on yahoo auctions or something.

yeah 6kg/4.5kg rears are best suited for hillclimbs and the like. Plenty stiff enough for road tyres. Actually they may be too stiff, you might need to go softer.

Always better to go softer in the springs and get nice dampers, most shocks don't have the required damping for stiff springs anyway.
