    iv got a 4age 16v bigport in a ae82. lately its been kind of surging and jumping when i accelerate. it started small but after a week its gotten kind of severe... iv tried nothin and am all out of ideas...nah seroisly i chanded the plugs for brand newies. but the problem continues. anyone ever had this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

    have you checked the tension on your belts? timing?

    this happen to me... its most likely timing, .. set the cam dots to the timing marks, take of ur dizzy cap and make sure its firing on 1... also check tension of the belt as sed above. if thats all good get a timing light and check that its on 0 or close to..

    ive had this happen to me but then it goes then it comes back sometimes, does it stall out when u stop at lights?

    not usually. if iv been givin some stick it will go close to the point of stalling. sometimes stall but yea. thanks drif86. ill do that tommorow arvy.

    It could also be your Throttle Position Sensor, if it is out of place or not functioning properally it can do very similar things to this.

    Otherwise, Timing id say

    TPS (as far as i am aware) is on your throttle body, attaches to the butterfly thing, where your accel cable attaches

    id also be leaning towards timing, in my experience anything to do with power loss, without reason, is generally to do with ignition timing..thats just me though
