rat rods

i cant see how they would be that hard to shape up to be honest. i do like them, if i did one id run sportsbike style wheels on the front for sure,

but id probably rather build a gt40 replica with good jap bits, but the rat rods do have a charm, most seem like they go a little far and spoil them, make the roof that little bit too low, make them so naked and stuff. look like they spent 10 mins hacking up a grill and shit.

does that make a rat rod, a table from the 20s, that has been pulled apart, sanded, all wobbly, not level, the draws dont go in and out properly, been painted with a dabbed sponge and sanded back to look old again, but some brand new castor wheels?

driftke70 basically everything you have written in this thread has been so off that its a bit hard to reply with out myself sounding rude.

Hot Rod a real hot rod is something that is created not bought off the shelf and FRP Rod and Kit cars normally comes with instructions on how to build it hence the Term IKEA Car

If you were going to 'refer' a rat rod to some furniture it would more be referred to that dirty old couch in the basement that you lost your virginity on.

This thread is really annoying now and should only have pics. Half of the stuff that is written here is so 'fucking wow' and misinformed that it is a insult

these are just some rods that i like. i think most are pretty legit but by no means a specific style, rat or otherwise.

first one looks amazing good for something thats not heavily channeled. runs a v6.. controversy there but yeah its a nice car.

the one you quoted, the tail is a bonnet from some old truck . i dont know what cabs from, could be glass maybe.

its on a box chassis and runs a fabed front beam but i still rate it. maybe some sort of scatter shield over the bell would be nice lol.

my bucket will have a similar stance to the one pictured(6th down). no rear deck at all ect. i will have at least a partial bonnet though i think, otherwise the space frame might look weird. and yeah astron or pinto power.
