Got receipts of everything? Stamp duty receipt, wheels, motor, etc etc
get a solicitor or an insurance company

2 months ago i was driving my friends ae86 and some drunk guy lost control in the wet and hit me
i told him the car is worth $6,000 but his solicitor quoted it at $1,450 through red book
its has 4age, superlights and new paint job
the engine number is on the rego
is there any legal way we can prove the car is worth at least $4,000 to $5,000

my friend swapped the insurance to this other car when he bought it, so no insurance
we got all receipts and sent it to him, and he claims that he was unsure who caused the accident
even tho he was drunk and we have a wittness that saw everything
plus i also broke both my knee caps and thigh muscles, cant play sport for the rest of my life!!

Well first off... those are some sexxxxy legs bro!! j/k
On a serious note...
The Red Book???!! Bwaaaa haaaaaa haaaaa. Over here we have the Kelley Blue Book that does the same. It gives people a "value" of their car depending on the state of condition it is in. So it's pretty much the same thing. When people get into accidents, insurance companies tend to look for the "values" in these books for a price. What people don't realize when they get screwed over by the insurance companies, is the simple fact that the prices the insurance companies determine the value at is MEERLY A SUGGESTION briught on by these books. These books can not give an actual value of a automobile, but meerly a "guesstimate". The best and correct way to deal with this situation is to go to any websites that are selling these cars (preferably dealer sites ) and print out ads of the same model cars selling for rediculouse ammounts, go to newspaper ads and do the same. Find an actual used car dealership with these selling for the same "high prices" and take pictures of the vehicles and "for sale signs". Gather up all the information that you can furbish to proove the actual value and rarity of these cars and take it to them. I would think that it would be against the law to simply total out a vehicle legally, simply by going from a book that wasn't created by the government or the department of motor vehicles. Don't you think? I hope that you find this information and these suggestions helpfull m8! (<<---your ausiness is rubbing off on me fellas!!)
