try running 20psi on 205 tyres and tell me u have lost grip in the wet

aqua plaining is another story, but only an issue with low tread depth unless your driving through floods

with the weight of your car a 205 is too wide in the wet.

as you lower your tyre pressure, its concaving in the middle and your driving more on the outer edges, effectively giving you
a smaller contact area, with more pressure over that contact area, if it was properly inflated the tyre wouldnt have enough weight over
its surface area to bite properly.

what i call no traction is prbly a little bit higher grip levels than what most ppl would be familiar with

sure you might be riding on the edge of the tyre with lower psi but when you pump it up that high youd be only running on the centre of the tyre. you will find that lower pressure in a tyre is actually more surface area than a tyre with higher pressures.

hence when it comes to grip you see the drag guys running low pressures even with street tyres

see heres my point, going down to 32 isnt really letting your tyres down, thats getting them to what they ordinarily should be,

there are too many variables, ie brand and wear on the tyre, the fact the lower psi is allowing for a bit more give in the sidewall which could be cushioning any wrong signals through the wheel.

comparing to your s14 is silly, there is more than 2 variables, ie weight and width of tyre, rear camber for one, meaning your tyre on the silvia isnt riding on 255, in reality riding on 195, your sprinter obviously doesnt have irs.

the higher grip levels are relevant, but because your running more power doesnt mean your lateral grip is any different, the way it transfers onto it is.

As said, semis in 205 that have been through a good heat cycle are not a good gauge.

Someone earlier was comparing to d1, its not a very good comparison, their tracks are different, much more power, crazy setups. MSC is a good comparison on the other hand, even though many comparisons can be drawn between d1 and msc.

use hibino for example, lots of power, 15s, non slicks, plenty of grip.

when i ran 285's on the rear of my s14 they wore flat... so how is that equivelant to a 195 ? and to note that it was less than 200kg heavier, so 20% over what the 86 is but with 285 instead of 225

and are you tyring to say you run 32 psi on a dry track with normal street tyres ? thats ridiculas altho not including r1r, re010 or re001 as normal street tyrs either as they are all heavily reiforced similar to semi slicks,

semi slick tyre pressures tend to range between 28 and 32, sometimes as low as 24 with high ambeint temp's
