i have a haltech e6x computer to run my bigport ge in my 71. but i am having trouble getting spark out of it. i am running a waste spark setup, using a hyundai coil pack, bosch bim200 ignition module (2 channel) and a smallport dizzy, modified to use the 24 teeth rotor for the trigger and i have removed three of the four teeth on the four tooth rotor to create a home reference point.
my problem is that the ignition module has power to it constantly, ie current flows through it to earth and as you would imagine it gets a bit warm.
is any one on here running a similar set up that could give me some pointers or a base map to set it up on.
i have talked to haltech, but they keep saying it should work.

That's how it's meant to work isnt it? it has power, and to fire, it sends an earth, no?
Do you have an option in a haltech to set the dwell time for the ignitor? if it's a smart ignitor, you might have to set that to 0?..
just a thought. I've never touched a haltech.
But is everything else equal? Was it running before you went to use wasted spark?
