get a cometic head gasket and a toyota dealer should sell ya a vrs kit for $130
ok so need to rebuild the 20v, blows alot of smoke compression is 200psi per cylinder, so leaning towards valve stem seals.
now i dont wanna go ahead and just do the seals to find out that it was the oil rings that were rooted so im just gonna put new bearings rings valve stem seals and possibly uprated valve springs....
my question is who can recomend the best place to order all the stuff i need aswell as a TRD .8 head gasket.
nothings knockin or rattling so i shouldnt need any machine work bar a bore hone which i have here at home.
will also take alot of pics when im doing it too so hopefully it will help a few ppl out there thinking of attempting their own rebuild.
thanks sven

yager performance sell ya aftermarket valve springs around $200
repco, bursons, autobarn, carbitz etc etc can get aftermarket bearings and seals. Toyota can do the headgasket for like $55550025928 or you could order one from J land for like $160 or something with the exchange rate as it is now.
Who is going to rebuild it? There is alot of stuff ppl dont know about building an engine. And i reccomend you still get the block and crank checked over by a machinists before assembly
why do ya whant a head gasket anyway arent they .8 stock? and the vrs kit comes with a toyota gasket 20v gaskets are very good and strong in standard form if ya wanna up the compression slightly (if toyota gaskets are thicker than .8) then just deck the head a little
ACL also sell race series bearing cheap man
im a mechanic and have rebuilt a few engines from old school bmw E30 motors to camry V6's even Bmws new double clutch gearbox which is alot more complex than 90% of motors so im not new to the stuff.
block will be gettin checked over but not the crank unless it has any major scores or hot spots in it.
yea i was leaning over towards the ACL race series bearings, and was also thinking about decking the head slightly just to raise the compression a tad more, maybe to 10.5:1 or possibly 11:1.
how much was the VRS kit?
