    Default floor pan welding

    the other weekend i had the carpet out of my coupe and realised the the mounting base for my passenger seat has a big crack in it. just wondering what kind of welder is appropriate for this type of repaire? sorry if this has already been covered at sum stage. thanks

    if the metals seems fatigued you can weld a patch on top

    Also, drill a hole through the ends of the cracks to stop them growing before you weld any repairs.

    i actually had the same problem but it was drivers side
    basically my mate mig welded the crack up for me and he also welded up a braceing plate of steel to strenthin it, just a peice of 3mm sheet metal around the side of the mounting postion and welded to the floor and mounting position. stronger than factory
    works great havent had a problem since!

    On mine today, I found the mount hadn't cracked but the spot welds had come loose. I MIGed it in place. Just a few small welds, no brace.
