fuck that second set is sick
Have a search on toymods, I seem to remember "EvoSti" whacked up something about making rosejointed LCAs. May even be on the old forums.
Hen
yeh searched on toymods but didn't really come up with much.
with the bush that goes through the rose joint obviously you make it so that it fits tight into the crossmember but is it important that the rose joint can't slide on that?
if so would it be a two piece thing that that you can slide them in the rose joint and then fit into the crossmember? if you know what i mean...
cheers

that 2nd set would cost alot!
where would you buy the rose joint that replaces your ball joint? it'd have to have a taper on it right? im talking about the the bit that connects to your steering arm btw

re above.
first, no one calls them rose joints really.
the one at the inner pivot (same style used on the rear 4 link ect) is called a "rod end"
the outer one is called a spherical bearing. its exactly the same style bearing thats used in a strut top, the bit with the taper is a separate part.
you can buy them ready made in a few sizes, probably nothing that would work with an 86 steering knuckle, but the same places sell the tapered "ball joint reamer".
lol well that set used rod ends both ends which is a bit odd, but anyway yeah as above.
you can also buy rod ends with that part built in, but not with a taper.
best place to get them is u.s mail order places.
Most bearing shops can get them in.
not cheap.
Hokey, are you talking about the rod end that goes into the cross member sliding around?
you machine up spacer rings which center the rod end between the cross member mounts (2nd pic). Also there is no "bush" that passes through rod ends, it'll more than likely be a 8.8 bolt that fits flush.
