You'd think so right? but didn't they cut the hole for the shifter differently? if so they'd need a different die for that too...
possible but i doubt it. i'd say they wouldn't bother pressing two kinds of tunnel designs

I think they are different. The gearbox crossmember I had off a manual AE86 wasn't wide enough for my KE70..(auto)
Really? But doesn't the AE71 gearbox cross member fit a KE70 Auto tunnel? And aren't the AE71 and AE86 cross members the same?...
It'll be annoying if it doesn't fit because I'm planning on using one to convert my ke auto to manual...
Anyone have a definite answer?
If it doesn't fit can it be easily modified to fit?
ae86 ones don't work.
unsure how easily they are modifyed to work.
jack the car up and measure or somthing first. you might be able to slot the holes.
How about the AE71 member?
Is it different to the AE86 one? (I want to mount a T50 in the KE70)
Cheers
yeah for mounting t50 in ke70 you use ae71 crossmember
Thanks, fortunately this is what I have.
So it's different to ae86 one?
If I have time I'll try to compare the ae71 to the one in my ae86...
yes ae71, ke70, ae86 gearbox crossmembers are all different.
and all auto/manual ones are different again
